In 1988, founder Alain Camiling and a few friends from the University of Southern California experienced what is now considered one of the most significant paranormal events to date; a full bodied, intelligent apparition. The young college students were hiking atop the famous Hollywood Hills alongside the Hollywood sign itself. The apparition is thought to be the spirit of Peg Entwistle, a not-so-famous then 1930's Hollywood actress who committed suicide by leaping to her death from the H of the sign. Their account was recreated and aired on SyFy channel's Paranormal Witness. From that day forward, Alain founded P.A.R. and set out to find an explanation for what took place that evening. A few years later, Alain was joined by several friends that shared the same interest in finding explanations for strange occurences. P.A.R. became a team effort and the name was changed to reflect that growth. As a result, over the years P.A.R.T. has assisted many private homeowners, businesses and historical venues with their own seemingly inexplicable activities.
The P.A.R.T. family is far reaching and vast. We have a core group of 10 to 12 investigators that conduct research in the Southern California area regularly. Our members consist of a variety of professional and blue collar individuals ranging from doctors, attorneys, law enforcement officers, individuals working within higher education as well as mechanics, handymen, financial advisors, house parents, videographers and photographers. Additionally, across the country, we have enlisted many of the Paranormal Research community to help others in areas that we cannot quickly assist. We believe that this very diverse group provides the background and experience necessary to form well rounded and as close to complete theories for solutions as possible.
